Teresa Fair-Field, who serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor for Baylor University’s Doctor of Occupational Therapy program, recently co-authored an article in the Early Human Development March 2023 issue. The article, titled “Enhancing Motor Screening Efficiency: Toward an Empirically Derived Abridged Version of the Alberta Infant Motor Scale” provides an examination of the original 58 motor items comprising the AIMS (Piper & Darrah, 2022), a selection of 15 of those items that comprise the proposed ‘salient’ set, and a discussion of its use in building a machine learning tool that can augment developmental screening in the first-year infant.
