Kelly Layne, OTD, MOT, OTR/L

Kelly Layne is a Clinical Associate Professor for the Baylor Doctor of Occupational Therapy program. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology (1998) from the University of Southwestern Louisiana. She then earned her Master of Occupational Therapy (2001) and her Post Professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy (2003) from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. Dr. Layne is currently pursuing a PhD in Educational Technology and Design from Walden University. She has held certifications in breastfeeding and cognition. Dr. Layne has practiced in a variety of settings with adults and older adults including acute care, trauma ICU, inpatient rehabilitation, long term acute care, outpatient, mental health, and community-based practice.
She has provided pro-bono services to community-based organizations that serve adults, older adults, individuals with mental illnesses, and mothers and babies who are breastfeeding. She currently volunteers at a local middle and high school and teaching religious education to middle schoolers. Dr. Layne has presented nationally and internationally on innovative educational practices. She has had articles on education, international collaboration, and community practice published in peer reviewed journals.
