Apply to Become Capstone Faculty Advisor
This position includes the opportunity to advise students during lab immersions in two capstone preparation courses, Doctoral Mentorship I and Doctoral Mentorship II.
Course activities include identifying individualized learning objectives, creating plans for supervision and mentorship, completing a methodology report including project design, implementation plans, and plans to evaluate project outcomes, and presenting a proposal for plans. All activities are informed by a comprehensive needs assessment and literature review. Capstone Advisors support the students in the development and revision of these course materials under the guidance of the student’s Capstone Chair and Capstone Site Supervisor during an immersive lab experience.
Candidates with experience in entry-level capstone process, program development, and/or evidence-based programming preferred.
Travel and time commitment for two lab immersions is a requirement.
OTD 6472 Doctoral Mentorship I (4 credit hours)
Development of a scholarly Doctoral Capstone Project plan to include a literature review, needs assessment, and identification of capstone goals and objectives.
OTD 6383 Doctoral Mentorship II (3 credit hours)
Methods and procedures for the planned Doctoral Capstone Project are developed with a proposal for implementation and evaluation submitted. Students create plans for supervision and mentorship, an individualized action plan, and an evaluation plan.
