Post-professional OTD Curriculum

Plan of Study

Baylor University’s Post-Professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy (PPOTD) program consists of 30 total credit hours: 17 core credits, 7 capstone credits, and 6 credits focused on hybrid and online teaching. This fully online, cohort-based program can be completed in just 16 months.

• Core Courses are designed for practicing occupational therapists to enhance knowledge of advances in the field, clinical reasoning, evidence-based practice, and professional development and leadership.
• Doctoral Capstone Courses are dedicated to the development, implementation, evaluation, and dissemination of students’ capstone projects. The doctoral capstone allows students to pursue a deeper understanding of an area of clinical specialization and identified need in the profession. See past students’ Doctoral Capstone Projects here.
• Hybrid and Online Teaching Courses focus on teaching in hybrid and online modalities, applicable in both academic and healthcare settings. 

Baylor has done a tremendous job combining learning design and technology to deliver quality coursework in an online format.  The instructors are accessible and committed both to the profession of occupational therapy and to Baylor University.
