What kind of opportunities does a Certificate in Hybrid and Online Teaching provide for healthcare professionals?
The academic landscape is continually evolving, and online and hybrid healthcare programs are becoming increasingly common. As these programs grow, so does the need for healthcare professionals who can effectively teach in online and hybrid learning environments—not just subject matter experts, but educators who understand how to engage, support, and teach students across multiple modes of communication and technology platforms.
The Certificate in Hybrid and Online Teaching is designed to prepare healthcare professionals for exactly that role by providing practical training in effective hybrid and online teaching strategies, learning design, communication, and evidence-based educational research. The program also equips educators with the skills to continue innovating and adapting as teaching and learning evolve in the future.
How is the Certificate in Hybrid and Online Teaching connected to the Post-professional OTD program?
Students in the PPOTD program will also receive the Certificate in Hybrid and Online Teaching for the Health Sciences. The courses are integrated into the PPOTD curriculum. Due to this, students who are interested in pursuing the PPOTD at a slower pace or want to experience what the coursework is like may transition into the full PPOTD program after completing the certificate, if they meet admissions requirements.
