Students explore the purposeful integration of educational technologies to support learning objectives, engagement, and assessment across modalities. Includes the design and development of instructional materials and learning artifacts for both online and face-to-face components, with peer teaching used to foster student-driven exploration of emerging topics in hybrid and online education.
HHS 6396 Designing and Evaluating Hybrid and Online Learning Experiences
Focuses on the application of educational theory and research to the development and evaluation of hybrid and online learning experiences in health sciences education. Through structured, simulated instructional scenarios, students design, implement, and refine a learning module or instructional plan that supports active adult learning. Emphasis is placed on assessment, evaluation, and continuous improvement, culminating in the creation of teaching artifacts and the refinement of an electronic teaching portfolio aligned with hybrid and online instructional practice.
