Baylor Unveils Clinical Simulation & Skills Facility
In October 2025, Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences held a ribbon cutting to unveil its new $5 million Clinical Simulation & Skills Facility. The facility, which integrates cutting-edge technology with immersive training, will provide opportunities for OTD students, as well as graduate students from other programs, to advance their skills in a state-of-the-art lab space.
"This facility truly sets Baylor's OTD program apart by allowing students to integrate clinical reasoning, hands-on skills, and professional behaviors in a realistic, supportive environment. Rather than learning skills in isolation, students can practice complex, client-centered care scenarios that mirror real-world practice across settings and populations. Having access to an innovative simulation space while also being a hybrid program really allows us to provide exceptional education at a distance and impactful hands-on learning while on campus," said Kayla Collins, Clinical Associate Professor and Entry-level OTD Program Director. "I am most excited about how this facility enhances student confidence and readiness for fieldwork and practice. Through simulation, students can make decisions, problem-solve, collaborate, and reflect in a safe space, which ultimately leads to stronger clinical judgment, adaptability, and client-centered care."
