Bring Your Experience Back to Baylor OTD

Occupational therapy students and faculty work with a child using an exercise ball and Mr Potato Head toy.

Your professional experience in occupational therapy can make a meaningful difference in the education of future practitioners.

Each year, Baylor University’s Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) program welcomes practicing occupational therapists to serve as adjunct faculty to bring their clinical knowledge, professional experience, and perspective into our learning environment.

Adjunct faculty work alongside full-time faculty and students during on-site lab immersions in Waco, as well as additional active learning experiences. These opportunities allow you to share what you have learned in practice, help students build confidence and clinical skills, and contribute to the continued growth of the Baylor OTD community.

Why teach with Baylor OTD?

  • Make an impact on the next generation of occupational therapists.
  • Connect with faculty, students, alumni, and fellow practitioners.
  • Receive competitive compensation based on course duration, preparation and close-out time, and additional responsibilities, such as grading.
  • Travel expenses and hotel accommodations are covered for traveling more than 50 miles to Waco to teach immersive labs.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for an adjunct faculty position, applicants must have:

  • Current occupational therapy licensure
  • A master’s degree in occupational therapy
  • At least two years of clinical experience in the relevant area of practice

Texas licensure is not required to apply. Individuals selected to serve as adjunct faculty will be required to obtain Texas occupational therapy licensure prior to teaching.

Our adjunct hiring cycle begins each July. If you meet these qualifications and have an interest in teaching, we would love for you to consider joining us!
