Dr. Jana Hickman serves as a Clinical Lecturer in the Department of Occupational Therapy at Baylor University in the Entry Level and Post-Professional OTD Programs. She earned her Associate in Science Degree from Seward County Community College, and her Bachelor of Health Science Degree from Wichita State University. Dr. Hickman completed her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy Degree from Washington University in St. Louis and has practiced 26 years as an occupational therapy clinician working across multiple settings. She holds a Doctor of Occupational Therapy Degree from Baylor University.
Dr. Hickman has clinical experience in inpatient rehab, TBI rehab, home health, outpatient, and school-based therapy. She has more than 20 years of experience practicing as a school-based OT and founded Going Places Occupational Therapy Services, PLLC, which provides school-based OT services to students ages 3-21 in multiple school districts in northwest Oklahoma.
Her special areas of interest include executive function deficits and helping students improve organizational skills, as well as incorporating transitional skills into individualized educational plans. Dr. Hickman enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, attending sporting events and spending time at the lake.
