Teresa Fair-Field, OTD, OTR/L
Clinical Assistant Professor
Teresa Fair-Field is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy at Baylor University. Dr. Fair-Field completed a BSOT at Pacific University (OR) in 1993, and a post-professional Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) at Chatham University (PA) in 2016. Dr. Fair-Field is certified in Ayres Sensory Integration® (UPS/USC) and is a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP). She has worked through the lifespan from early intervention and out-patient pediatrics to adults in acute care, home health, TBI/neuro, and elder health settings. Enhancing her clinical career, Dr. Fair-Field has managed a 65-person Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation department at a major metropolitan medical center, been a founding clinical member of an ALS Center of Excellence, and built and operated a private pediatric clinic, the OT Clubhouse.
Joining the Occupational Therapy faculty in 2021 during the program’s inaugural year, Dr. Fair-Field’s academic interests include research & scholarship, infant & child development, and understanding sensation and behavior from a nervous system perspective. Her current research explores the screening of first-year infants using machine learning-enhanced detection of markers of developmental motor delay from asynchronous parent-led home videos via a smartphone app.
Dr. Fair-Field is proud to serve on the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) Roster of Accreditation Evaluators and is an American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) Certified Academic Leader. She travels to campus from her home in Seattle, WA region.
